Field Day Fall Foxhunting Camp
November 9-12, 2023
Come join us to improve or gain experience in all aspects of foxhunting! All levels and ages welcome! Learn about etiquette, attire hacks and fundamental skills you and your horse can use in the field. Learn about roles in the hunt, traveling to other hunts and more!
Thursday: Horses and riders arrive at Spring Valley Farm after 3 p.m. Meet and greet dinner next door in the lovely home of Shelley Dayton and Mike Gron at 6:00 p.m. Short seminar, “Welcome to the Foxhunting Tribe.”
Friday Morning: Flatwork and gymnastics (jumping optional).
Friday Afternoon: Informational sessions. Topics could include tack/saddle fitting, equine body work, trailer loading, braiding, yoga for riders or other. What do you want to learn? Topic suggestions welcome.
Friday Evening: Pitch-In dinner and bonfire at Spring Valley Farm
Saturday Morning: Jumping (or flatwork) and pacing in the morning.
Saturday Afternoon: Informational sessions. Topics could include tack/saddle fitting, body work, trailer loading, braiding, yoga for riders or other. What do you want to learn? Topic suggestions welcome.
Saturday Evening: Dinner at Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) and spectating the Young Horse Show Finals Presented by Spy Coast Farm
Sunday: Mock Foxhunt on the FENCE xc course, jumping not required, but opportunities for jumpers. Followed by lunch, T-shirts and pictures! Everyone leaves happy!

Cost: $300. $100 deposit to hold your spot. Full payment is due on November 1, 2023.
Refund policy: Full refund less $25 office fee before closing date. After closing, a full refund will be given only if your spot can be filled from the waiting list.
Stabling: Stalls and individual grass paddocks offered on site at Spring Valley Farm, $25 per day. Each horse gets both a stall and paddock.
Housing: Limited RV hookups available at FENCE for $35/night. Some walking-distance local housing possible for lovely guests. Other options
Required: Negative Coggins within a year. ASTM-approved helmet, hard-soled boots.
Instructor: Camie Stockhausen is a U.S. Eventing Association -Certified Instructor as well as a foxhunting and eventing horsetrainer. She specializes in simple explanations and tools that work effectively. More instructors may be added depending on numbers of campers!
Closing Date: November 1, 2023
Spots will be held with a deposit of $100, with full payment due at closing date. Payment can be made by Venmo to @Camie-Stockhausen-1 or by check to “Field Day.” Checks may be mailed to Camie Stockhausen, 4160 Hunting Country Road, Landrum, SC 29356.
Refunds: Before C.D.-Less $25 non-refundable office fee for withdrawals received in writing (via e-mail or U.S. mail). After C.D.-Less $25 only if place can be filled from wait list. NO phone cancellations accepted. After C.D.-Entry/Stabling- No refund.
