Where: Catalpa Corner Horse Park, Iowa City

When: Friday October 16 and/or Saturday morning October 17, 2015

Why: To expand your riding and jumping skills with a USEA ICP-certified riding instructor and have fun with your horse and like-minded people. Maybe to prepare for riding in the One Day Event and Dressage Schooling Show at the park on Saturday afternoon!

How: Friday and/or Saturday xc group schooling sessions for any level: Starter, Beginner Novice, Novice, Training or Preliminary.

Fees: An hour and a half group xc school is $65. Park-use fee for each horse/rider combination, paid to the Catalpa Corner Horse Park is $50 per day of park use (includes showjumping and dressage ring). Park fees will be paid on site.  Clinic fees must be paid in advance for scheduling purposes and can be paid via paypal payment  to fielddayhorses@gmail.com or by mailed check made out to ‘Field Day’ to 57560 highway 210, Cambridge, IA 50046-8583.

Entering details: Enter by filling out the online registration form below. For a clinic entry to be complete, online entry and paymentmust be received by Tuesday October 6th at midnight. Ride times for completed entries will be posted on Tuesday October 13th.

Stabling: Available Friday exclusively for entrants in the Saturday ODE.  Stabling fee is included in the ODE entry.  No Saturday or Sunday night stabling.

Camping: $30.00/weekend, limited. Specify electrical needs, reserve w/ ODE entry. Campers will receive a tag to display.

Why: An opportunity to practice your eventing competition skills. Braid if you want to practice it, wear your showclothes if you want to test run them. Unbraided and neat informal attire welcome as well.

Details: The purpose of this day is to provide an opportunity for riders to practice eventing or bring out a green horse by doing a run-through of a horse trial in one day. Dressage tests will be scored, but no other scoring will take place. XC will be timed for rider information only. Riders can go around any fence that they wish to with no penalty. This is for fun and to work the kinks out of your competition skills. 2014 Test A for June and July, 2014 Test B for August and September for both levels. Downloadable here. USEF rules for eventing will be followed where safety is concerned. ASTM-approved helmets and hard-soled boots are required, safety vests are recommended.

Entry fee for ODE, including park fees and lunch for one person, $100. Additional lunches may be purchased with entry or at the entrance to the show for $5.

No onsite stabling.

For locals: We’ll have a set up party on the Thursday evening prior to each show, starting at 5 p.m. or whenever you can make it. We’ll be numbering xc jumps, creating a start box and finish line, setting up the showjumping course and other duties as they are required. The show will provide sandwiches to anyone who shows up with a snappy smile and a pair of work gloves. Let me know if I can plan on you. Thanks!

XC, simple course with water, ditches and terrain challenges, no time will be kept, but management reserves the right to comment on pace. 😉 Showjumping in sand and grass.

XC Clinic at Catalpa Corner April 23 and 24, 2016

What: Cross Country Clinic with Camie Stockhausen

Where: Catalpa Corner Horse Park, Iowa City Iowa

When: Saturday and Sunday April 23-24, 2016.

Who: Camie Stockhausen of Field Day, a USEA ICP-Certified instructor, whose teaching style focuses on safety, success and fun. All levels, intro to preliminary are welcome and encouraged to enter.

How: This will be a one or two-day clinic covering group cross country exercises both days. Riders may choose to school either day or both days.  The intention is to school individual jumps on Saturday and groups of jumps or perhaps entire courses on Sunday to work on pace. Groups will be according to level.  If the weather/footing cancels outdoor schooling on one of the days, appropriate refunds will be made.

How much: Park fees are $45 per day; Coaching is $60 per session.  Stabling and camping with electrical hookup are available for $25 per service, per night. Bring own shavings for stall and kindly strip stall before departure.  Entry deadline is 6 p.m. Wednesday April 20th. Fully paid entrants will be scheduled. Late entry fee adds $10 to schooling fee.
